Trends: High Point Furniture Market #1

Hi from High Point, NC!

After seeing white on white (particularly white linen) for the past couple of furniture markets, it was really refreshing to see a lot of color this past week in High Point.

Indigo Blue was the most prevalent color followed by a really pretty watery blue/green. If you live near the water, these colors are old standbys and easy to work with. They mix really well with gray and, of course, white, but also red and orange.

What is different this time is the furniture itself. In keeping with the design movement back to the early 1900’s, the best pieces have wonderful textiles mixed with antique looking spool chairs, chaises, and ottomans. Most of the wood is painted or lacquered black, giving a really modernity to this look.
