How to Pick Paint Colors for Your Home

Hi from Brooklyn!

Save the Date! I’m going to be speaking at Capital Restoration in Brooklyn on Thursday, May 7th from 6:30-8:30.

If you aren’t familiar with Capital, you need to visit at 2720 Ave U. This is the type of family-owned Brooklyn business that I love. Among the many offerings are Pratt & Lambert paints (which I recommend to all of my clients), Fine Paints of Europe and Farrow & Ball paint, a British brand, that I used in this room.

The color is Borrowed Light and it is a fantastic combo of light blue-blue/gray-medium blue, depending on how the light hits. As far as interior painting and exterior house painting goes, it was a bit advanced, but well worth the effort. It took a bit of research, and I discussed it with commercial building painting professionals who were kind enough to lend me their time and expertise. At a 20% sheen, it drove my painter crazy, but the subtle glow made for the exact end result I was looking for.

Beautiful, soothing, timeless…just how you want a room to look.
xoxo Theresa
