The Last Days of Summer

Hello from Southern California!

I’ve taken my work on the road for a bit of sunshine and fun. It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of Summer 2017. It has been such a busy time. Lots of work. Lots of running around. Lots of family obligations. Lots of doing for others. Definitely not enough time to kick back and watch the clouds pass overhead.

Over the next few months, I’ll start the house renovation. Renovation is important because this maintains and improves home value. Not only will it look outdated, but areas of the house and critical systems can begin to show wear. Regular home maintenance and repairs like drain pipe cleaning, septic tank pumping, etc. are necessary to maintain your property value. A home renovation can help you maintain and increase that value.

Additionally, if you’re a property owner in Florida and your house’s or current space’s fire alarm system and/or water-based fire protection system such as a sprinkler system is not operational, you are required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Florida Statute to implement a fire watch should that system become impaired. You may seek expert help from a professional Fire Watch Company in Coconut Creek.

I’ll be working first on a bunch of kitchen and bathroom renovations. These are not only the most expensive renovations in a home, but they can be tricky to get right. Allocating the space correctly is a must and choosing the right fixtures, whether plumbing or lighting, can be daunting. Within the design field, there is a whole national organization to keep designers up to date on the newest products and technology to specify for these renovations. There’s always something new to learn and apply.

One recent find is colored sinks. Remember how sinks in the 1950’s were pink, blue and green? Well those colors (and a whole lot more) are back but in a super cool updated way. Check out Whyte and Company on Instagram and you’ll see what I mean! And, below, you’ll find a few more colorful ideas.

Enjoy these last weeks of summer!

xoxo- Theresa
