Color of the Year- 2020
I attended Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2020 reveal last week. While these ‘reveals’ are sometimes just over-hyped marketing, I found this particular reveal to be thought provoking. When we turn over the clock this New Year’s Eve, we are stepping into the next decade. Given what is going on in the world, I find this idea both anxiety-induding and a relief. I choose to remain optimistic.
This Color of the Year choice shows a clear shift for home decor and offers inspiration for both residential and commercial design projects. The top color, First Light 2102-70, is a soft rosy neutral which will work in virtually any room of your house. Thunder AF-685, is a fabulous grey, green, taupe shade that will shift with the lighting in your space. Crystalline AF-485 is a wonderful green (which are so tricky to get right), with a nod to sage but without it’s 1990’s baggage. Buxton Blue- HC-149, offers a moody blue choice which could work as a soothing bedroom or kitchen cabinet scheme. Golden Straw 2152-50 offers a sunny option. Moving away from the grey twenty-teens to the lightness of the twenty-twenties. I’m looking forward to moving ahead!
